Habitual Felon Sentenced In Rowan County

SALISBURY, N.C. – A habitual felon in Rowan County was sentenced to 14-18 years in prison for possessing multiple narcotics while fleeing arrest, according to the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office.

Rodriguez Dwane Mashore, 43, was convicted of the following charges:

  • Felony Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Schedule II Narcotics, 3 counts
  • Felony Flee To Elude
  • Driving While Impaired
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

The incident occurred on August 30th, 2022 when officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop on Mashore’s vehicle.

Mashore failed to stop and attempted to flee, leading police to make a PIT maneuver on his vehicle, causing it to spin.

While Mashore’s vehicle was spinning, officials said he threw narcotics out of his vehicle. Once Mashore’s vehicle came to a stop, he and a passenger were detained.

The sheriff’s office said they located crack cocaine, powder cocaine and fentanyl scattered around the crime scene. They also found crack cocaine and powder cocaine on Mashore.

Mashore was a habitual felon after being previously convicted of four felonies in Rowan County for cocaine possession, possessing a gun on educational property, possession with intent to deliver a counterfeit narcotic and obtaining property by false pretense.
