CLEVELAND COUNTY, N.C. – A Gastonia man was arrested in Cleveland County after deputies said he kidnapped a child in Ohio.
The Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office said the child was abducted Thursday night out of Warren County, just north of Cincinnati.
The Warren County Sheriff’s Office alerted authorities in Cleveland County about the suspect, Brandon Kyle Prichard, heading their way on I-85 north.
Deputies were able to identify Prichard’s vehicle and safely locate the abducted child.
Police arrested Prichard and charged him with kidnapping, human trafficking and weapon violations. He is being held without bond.
This case is still under an active investigation by the FBI and the Warren County Sheriff’s Office.
