Convicted Felon Arrested For Illegally Possessing Weapons, Narcotics
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – A convicted felon was arrested after deputies said they found five firearms and approximately 77 grams of narcotics at his residence in Catawba County, according to the sheriff’s office.
Law enforcement conducted a search warrant at a home on Alan D. Good Lane in Conover on Tuesday, June 18th.
At the residence, officers seized five firearms, 25.5 grams of methamphetamine, 51.6 grams of MDMA and drug paraphernalia, officials said.
Xavier Latrell Smith, 32, was arrested at the home. He was charged with the following:
- Trafficking in a Schedule I Controlled Substance
- Possession With Intent To Sell or Deliver a Schedule II Controlled Substance
- Maintaining a Dwelling to Manufacture, Sell or Deliver a Controlled Substance
- Possession of Firearm by Felon, 5 counts
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
“Job well done in getting these drugs off our streets and these weapons out of the hands of a convicted felon,” Sheriff Brown said.”We appreciate the assistance of our state partners in this investigation”.
Smith received a $700,000 secured bond.
