Discussion
Today will be hot, but remains less humid across the region with sunny skies and daytime highs reaching the mid 90s. A cold front approaches the area tomorrow, increasing the amount of moisture across the region along with temperatures. Highs will reach the upper 90s, with heat indices 100-102. Scattered afternoon storms will pop ahead of the front. The front will stall and begin to dissolve near the region leading to more scattered storms Thursday, but temps will be a few degrees cooler with highs in the low to mid 90s. A ridge slides over the region by Friday and Saturday leading to more heat and tropical moisture flooding into the region. Storms will be more isolated, but heat indices will once again climb to 100-104. Another cold front approaches the area Sunday. This will bring more organized storms to the region. The rain will be needed, but there likely will not be great movement with these storms so too much rain in a short period of time could also be a problem. Temps will cool slightly as we move into the first week of July with highs near 90.
