Ex-Animal Shelter Director Arrested
LANCASTER CO., S.C. – The former director of the Lancaster County Animal Shelter is charged with using shelter money on herself.
Shandrieka Everall was arrested for misdemeanor “breach of trust” after a nine-month investigation by SLED. Tonight, she is out of jail after promising to show up for court.
Investigators say Everall admitted to using shelter funds to buy herself meals and pay personal bills. She’s also accused of giving shelter money to a volunteer to pay a personal bill.
WCCB asked SLED if the investigation is now closed; the spokesman did not reply.
The county administrator tells WCCB shelter money, and pharmaceutical drugs, are now tracked with a computer program.
