Providence Day OT David Sanders Jr. Commits To Tennessee

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Providence Day five-star offensive tackle David Sanders Jr. committed to Tennessee on Saturday afternoon.

Sanders announced his commitment Saturday at the Providence Day Gymnasium, surrounded by his family and friends.

“[The Volunteers] have been on top for a very long time. Coach Heupel and that coaching staff, they’ve done an amazing job for me and my family and just having that support, showing that love from the beginning of the recruitment process to now,” Sanders said after picking Tennessee.

The 6-foot-6, 290-pound offensive tackle chose Tennessee over Georgia, Ohio State and Nebraska. Anna Adams of 247Sports predicted Sanders to choose Tennessee.

According to 247Sports, Sanders is the No. 3 overall prospect, No. 1 offensive tackle and No. 1 player in North Carolina for the class of 2025.

He’s been a foundational part of Providence Day’s offensive line, helping the Chargers win three-consecutive NCISAA State Championships.

Sanders and Providence Day kicked off the 2024 campaign with a 55-8 victory over Trinity Christian on Friday. He is set to graduate in December and enroll early at the school, according to 247Sports.
