Judge Faith Jenkins Talks New Season Of ‘Killer Relationships’
CHARLOTTE, NC — The third season of ‘Killer Relationships’ dives into the stories of relationships turned deadly.
“You hear the story from their family and friends of how these two people meet, they fall in love and create families. Then in the end when this break up is happening someone can’t just walk away. What’s the reason someone has to die?” Jenkins said.
The show’s host and executive producer Faith Jenkins is back for the show’s third season.
Jenkins , a judge and former prosecutor, says her background in the courtroom helped her to better tell the stories viewers will see on the show.
“Then as a prosecutor having those domestic violence cases so it gives me a different perspective and I’m able to really weigh in on the show and talk about the different aspects of the investigations that we see,” Jenkins said.
Jenkins said hosting the show seemed like a natural fit considering her love for true crime
“I was a big fan of the show Snapped and still am and used to watch it and it was my weekend when I would clean on saturdays. Snapped would be on in the background and that would be my guilty pleasure on the weekends,” Jenkins said.
Jenkins said this season tells the stories of everyday people with relationships that take an unexpected turn.
“These aren’t hard core criminals and people with long criminal histories. Our first case involved a professor and a teacher. So they’re really everyday people who you would meet and come across in your lives and somehow someone ends up committing the ultimate unimaginable act.”
Jenkins said they worked closely with the families of the victims on these cases because telling how they lived their lives is an important part of telling the story.
“They are involved in letting people know that their legacy is not how they died, but how they’ve lived. So we’re able to really get their stories out there for other people to know a little bit about who they were and their lives before they were tragically cut short.”
