Fatal Three-Vehicle Collision In Monroe

MONROE, N.C. – Monroe Police responded to a fatal vehicle collision on Concord Avenue that resulted in the death of a 70-year-old woman, according to a news release.

The release states that a 2011 Toyota Tacoma, driven by Joseph Lemmond, attempted to cross Concord Avenue and pulled out in front another truck causing a collision and the Tacoma spinning out of control.

The Tacoma collided with a parked truck in a Duke’s Grill parking lot. 70-year-old Sandra Jennings was a passenger in the parked truck and received serious injuries, as said by police.

Jennings was transported to a hospital, but succumbed to her injuries.

The investigation is active and ongoing with criminal charges expeted.
