AKLAND, Calif. (AP) β€” The Oakland Athletics have scratched Sonny Gray from tonight’s start against Colorado due to flu-like symptoms. Right-hander Chris Bassitt has been brought up from Triple-A Nashville to face the Rockies. Gray is 9-3 and is the AL leader with a 2.09 ERA.

CALGARY, Alberta (AP) β€” The Calgary Flames have signed Dougie Hamilton to a six-year contract that is reportedly worth $34.5 million. He was acquired in a draft day trade with Boston last week for three picks. Hamilton is coming off career highs in goals (10), assists (32) and points (42).

PARIS (AP) β€” Sprint star Usain (yoo-SAYN’) Bolt has withdrawn from this month’s Diamond League meetings in Paris and Lausanne due to an injured left leg, dealing a blow to his title defense preparations for the world championships in August. Bolt’s last race was a 200 meters in New York on June 13 when he recorded a time of 20.29 well off his world record of 19.19.
