CMPD Investigating Homicide In North Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. –  Police are conducting a homicide investigation after a man was killed on Wednesday afternoon, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.

Police responded to a “very active scene’ on Oaklawn Avenue near Statesville Avenue. There, a car was on fire and two people were possibly shot.

Charlotte Fire said one person was inside the vehicle and was transported to a local hospital.

At 4:38 p.m., CMPD said it was conducting a homicide investigation and that a man was pronounced dead by Medic.

The incident is under investigation.

The area is still an active scene. People are asked to avoid the area at this time.
