Man Charged With Murder After Woman Killed In Parking Lot

SALISBURY, NC – A man has been charged for fatally assaulting a woman in a parking lot on Wednesday night, according to the Salisbury Police Department.

Around 6:45 p.m. Wednesday, officers responded to the parking lot on Statesville Boulevard in regards to an assault. 

Upon arrival, police said they located a 57-year-old woman with life-threatening injuries. Despite receiving CPR, she died at the scene.

After further investigation, police conducted a search warrant Thursday afternoon at 44-year-old Herman Floyd III’s apartment off Clancy Street. Investigators acquired information and items linked to the homicide.

Floyd was arrested and charged with first-degree murder. He is being held without bond at the Rowan County Detention Center.
