GM bailing on robo taxi efforts

General Motors is scrapping its efforts to develop a fleet of driverless taxis.

GM will instead focus on driver-assistance features that require a driver to be ready to take control of the car.

The automaker said it will no longer fund the billions of dollars needed for development work of the cruise robo-taxi.

It cites the great amount of time and resources needed to grow that business and increasing competition in the market.
