Truist Field to host Charlotte’s New Year’s Eve celebration

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Truist Field is set to host Charlotte’s New Year’s Eve party for the first time ever.

The Charlotte Knights have partnered with Charlotte Center City Partners to help ring in the new year during the Light the Knights Celebration.

“We are very pleased to work together with Charlotte Center City Partners to bring CLT NYE to Truist Field,” stated Dan Rajkowski, COO of the Charlotte Knights. “We are very thankful for this great partnership, and we look forward to bringing fans into the ballpark to celebrate the New Year.”

Tickets go on sale on Thursday, December 12th at 10:00 a.m. Admission is $10 and includes a glass of champagne for those 21 and older or a glass of apple cider. Guests can also purchase a $25 ticket to skate around the ice skating rink from 10:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.

“We are thrilled to partner with the Charlotte Knights and Light the Knights for CLT NYE,” said Michael Smith, president and CEO of Charlotte Center City Partners. “This is an unmatched opportunity to pair our community’s celebration of the New Year with the Knights’ signature holiday event on one extraordinary night.”

The event concludes with fireworks at midnight.

On New Year’s Eve 2023, five people were shot in Romare Bearden Park steps away from Truist Field. Officials say violence did not motivate the move, but the new location will allow for an added layer of protection.

“There’s video cameras all over the place, and we know CMPD has done a great job in terms of not only reacting, but proactively going out after things like that have happened and making it clear that they’re going to be present,” Rob Egan, General Manager of Charlotte Knights said.

Egan says there will be CMPD officers and private security inside and outside the field. Guests will also walk through metal detectors.

Tickets can be purchased on the phone at 704-274-8300 or online at www.CharlotteKnights.com.
