Target Releases Statement After Monday’s Fire In Huntersville
UPDATE: A spokesperson for Target released the following statement after a fire forced their Huntersville store to evacuate Monday afternoon.
“On Monday, the fire and police departments responded to a fire at our Huntersville Target store. At Target, the safety and security of our guests and team members is of the utmost important to us. We worked to quickly evacuate the store and provide medical treatment to a handful of guests and team members who needed it. At this time, the store remains closed as we assess the damage and determine when the store might reopen. This is an active investigation and we encourage you to contact local law enforcement with additional questions.”

HUNTERSVILLE, NC — The Target on Sam Furr Road was evacuated Monday afternoon after a fire was reported inside the building.
The call came in shortly after 5pm. Medic and Huntersville Fire crews responded to the scene and evacuated the building.
Pictures posted to social media show heavy smoke throughout the store. Crews say the sprinkler systems were activated as a result.
It took crews about 15 minutes to get the fire under control. Officials say four patients have been treated for smoke inhalation, but so far there have been no transports.
Investigators are still working to determine what caused the fire.
