Arson Suspect Has Faced Arson Charges Before
CHARLOTTE, NC — WCCB Charlotte has learned a man accused of setting a fire on the Central Piedmont Community College campus and at a NoDa bakery has faced arson charges before. Nineteen-year-old Joshua Armstrong is charged with burning a school house and carelessness with fire in the latest cases.
CMPD says Armstrong set a small trash can on fire inside the Central High building on Elizabeth Avenue Wednesday morning.
A couple of hours later, police say he set paper towels on fire inside Amelie’s French Bakery on North Davidson Street. Nobody got hurt in either fire.
Jail records show Armstrong was charged with second degree arson last September.
