CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The outbound lanes on Independence Boulevard has shut down due to a car accident early Sunday morning.
The crash happened around 5:30 a.m. along East Independence near Fugate Avenue.
Medic said it transported two patients from the crash with non-life-threatening injuries.
East Independence is shut down near Coliseum drive. Drivers are asked to avoid the area and seek alternate routes.
The roadway is expected to reopen around 2 p.m., according to the NCDOT.
