The Panthers were originally slated to pick at No. 57, but completed a trade package with the Denver Broncos to move up to No. 51.
In the trade, the Panthers also received a third-round pick (No. 85), a fourth-round pick (No. 122), and a sixth-round pick (No. 208), according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.
Denver receives:
- Second-round pick (No. 57)
- Third-round pick (No. 74)
- Fourth-round pick (No. 111)
- Seventh-round pick (No. 230)
Scourton, 6’3″ and 257 pounds, was a first-team All-SEC edge rusher in 2024, totaling 37 tackles, 14 tackles for loss, and five sacks. He transferred to Texas A&M after spending two seasons with Purdue.
The Texas A&M product will be a much-needed addition to the Panthers’ defensive line. Carolina finished T-30th in sacks with 32 last season.
Scourton, 20, joins wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan as part of the Panthers’ 2025 draft class.
