Judge lowers bond for Gastonia parents charged in their son’s death
GASTONIA, N.C. – The parents charged in their 7-year-old son’s death now have a better chance of getting out of jail.
A Gaston County judge has lowered the bond for Samuele Jenkins and Jessica Ivey. A judge initially set their bond at $1.5 million each. That amount has now been lowered to $150,000.
They are charged with involuntary manslaughter and felony child neglect in the death of their son, Legend. A 76-year-old driver hit and killed Legend while he and his brother were walking across the street.
