Waxhaw Man Facing Animal Cruelty Charge After Allegedly Slamming Dog Against His Vehicle
WAXHAW, NC — A 26-year-old Union County man is facing an animal cruelty charge after deputies say he grabbed a dog by the collar and “violently slammed” her against his vehicle.
Officials say the incident happened Monday when a witness said they saw the dog standing in the middle of Waxhaw-Indian Trail Road. Brady Blymiller was pulled into a driveway and yelled at the person to drive around the dog. The motorist circled back to the location and saw Blymiller slam the dog violently into the side of his vehicle, according to reports.
Blymiller then “aggressively pursued” the witness, deputies say, after they attempted to get his license plate number. At one point, the witness told deputies that Blymiller even tried to run them off the road.
Deputies quickly located Blymiller’s vehicle after the witness called 911, and took him into custody.
Inside his truck, deputies say they found the abused dog, Annie, a roughly one and a half year old female Pit mixed, curled up in the back seat, and one additional dog. Annie was taken to the Union County Animal Shelter for examination, and officials say, though she appeared to be sore, she suffered no serious injuries.
Deputies say Annie actually belongs to a female friend of Blymiller’s, and arrangements are being made for her return.
Blymiller is charged with Animal Cruelty and Driving while License Revoked.
