One Dead In Shooting Near West Charlotte High School
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — CMPD is investigating a deadly shooting near West Charlotte High School.
Officers responded to Kendall Drive in west Charlotte just after 1pm and foundΒ Jay Jevon Phifer suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.Β Phifer was pronounced dead on the scene.
Police say the shooting was close to West Charlotte High School but is not related to the school.Β The school was placed on lockdown but that lockdown has since been lifted.
Two homes were also hit with gunfire during the shooting but no one inside those homes were injured.
No arrests have been made at this time.Β This is a developing story.Β Check back for updates.
