Raleigh, N.C. — A hearing today could set the stage for Duke Energy to raise its rates.
The utility company wants to tack an extra 13-17% on your bill, depending on where you live in North Carolina.
The extra cash would go toward the $200 million Duke needs for coal ash clean-up.
