CHARLOTTE, NC — Investigators are trying to determine whether several burglary and sexual assault cases throughout the city are connected.
CMPD says they have investigated seven cases over the past year where homes were broken into and, in some cases, the suspect sexually assaulted female victims. In each of the cases, investigators say the suspect description was similar: black male, mid-20s, and a thin build.
Police say they do not yet have enough information to confirm that the cases are related, but the investigations are ongoing.
The cases in question involve victims ranging from 24 to 63-years-old at locations throughout north, northwest, and east Charlotte.
- 59-year-old victim on Lothar Ridge Lane
- 55-year-old victim on Slater Ridge Drive
- 24-year-old victim on Swearngan Ridge Court
- 62-year-old victim on Peach Park Lane
- 63-year-old victim on Wynbrook Way, occurred on two separate ocassions
- 40-year-old victim on Regal Estate Lane
