First Presbyterian Church pastor fired over allegations of adultery
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The pastor at First Presbyterian Church in uptown Charlotte has been fired. In a letter from the church, shared with us by a source, it says Pendleton B. Peery violated the trust and responsibilities of ordained ministry.
A church investigative committee reported two charges of adultery, and two charges of wrongful concealment of inappropriate conduct. Peery has been censured, and that includes a removal from ordered ministry for at least three years.
In a letter from peery to the congregation, he admits to breaking his marriage vows.
