Charleston Police say first responders are actively looking for Heidi Todd who was reported missing on Johns Island shortly before 6 p.m. Tuesday.

Officers, firefighters, the Charleston County Rescue Squad and the U.S. Coast Guard searched through the night without success. Crews also searched a pond near her Johns Island home Wednesday morning.

The State Law Enforcement Division has asked law enforcement agencies across the state to look for Heidi. Authorities say they have not issued an Amber Alert because of a lack of information on a possible suspect, but say she may be with a Hispanic male, skinny, 25-30 years old with short hair & dressed in all grey.

Heidi was last seen wearing pink pants and a blue shirt.

Charleston Mayor John Tecklenburg told a news conference on Wednesday that Heidi Todd’s mother was “brutally beaten” and is hospitalized. Interim Police Chief Jerome Taylor said an “unwelcome guest” was at the Todd home, but couldn’t characterize the incident as a burglary.

Charleston Police have setup a 24 hour tip line for citizens to report any information in the case of missing 4 year old Heidi Todd and a possible person of interest, the Hispanic male.
