CHARLOTTE, NORTH CAROLINA — The WCCB Charlotte weather team is watching what is now a more favorable pattern for wintry weather here in the Carolinas this upcoming weekend. At this point snow chances are increasing but not set in stone just yet. With the cold air in place it will set the tone for a storm system that will turn into a Nor’easter.
- Cold air will be in place
- An area of low pressure will form along the northern Gulf Coast
Unknowns:
- Track of the system – how far inland or offshore does the low pressure track?
- The highest impacts will happen Saturday, but we are still monitoring the timing of the start of this storm.
- Accumulations if any
Possibilities:
- The low pressure tracks farther offshore and we stay dry
- The low pressure moves along the Carolina coastline and we get snow
It is too soon for exact details, but we will keep you updated on-air and online!
