Record warmth continues
Rain early morning into the start of the weekend
That warm southerly wind is making everything feel very spring-like, along with pulling in moisture straight from the Gulf of Mexico. So while we’re enjoying record- warmth, we’re also keeping an eye on rain chances. Friday, starts off unusually warm with morning temperatures in the low 60s along with the possibility of a few showers or even an isolated storm. As we move toward late morning and early afternoon, sunshine should break through, helping temperatures climb near 80 degrees.
It won’t be calm, though. Winds will stay strong, shifting from the southwest to the west, with gusts reaching up to 30 mph at times.
Just as quickly as the warmth arrives, things start to shift. Some rain and storms are possible to kick off the weekend, though the stronger activity should stay mainly south of us. We may still squeeze out some afternoon sunshine Saturday, but a cooler wind will begin to change the feel of the air. Temperatures ease back into the low 60s before dropping even more, with highs eventually struggling to reach 50 degrees
