Tunnel to Towers Foundation breaks ground on project to house homeless veterans

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Tunnel to Towers Foundation broke ground Thursday on a project set to turn an old Charlotte hotel into housing for homeless veterans.

The foundation bought the hotel on Forest Pine Drive in southwest Charlotte and will now convert it into low-cost housing for those veterans in need.

Organizers say they will also have services on site to help veterans find jobs and get medical help.
