HICKORY, N.C. – A 28-year-old man is facing murder charges after a shooting in Hickory left one person dead and two others hurt, according to the Hickory Police Department.
It happened just before 9 p.m. Friday night on 2nd Street Court SW. Upon arrival, officers located 36-year-old Donnie Morgan dead from a gunshot wound.
Two additional victims, 54-year-old Michael Wilfong and 39-year-old Deangelo Morgan, were transported to a local hospital for gunshot wounds. Their current condition is unknown at this time.
Investigators identified 28-year-old Melvin Ramseur as the suspect and charged him with murder and two counts of attempted murder. He is being held at the Catawba County Detention Center without bond.
