Suspect wanted for convenience store robbery in Lancaster, deputies say
LANCASTER, S.C. – Deputies are searching for a man wanted for robbing a convenience store in Lancaster on Saturday, according to the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office.
Around noon on March 28, deputies say a man robbed The Forks convenience store off Memorial Park Road and Grace Avenue.
The man allegedly brandished a firearm, pointed it at the clerk, and demanded money. Deputies said the suspect was given an undisclosed amount of money and left on foot toward Memorial Park Road. No shots were fired, and the store clerk was not injured.
Prior to the robbery, the man was seen near a fuel tank and was sitting on some crates by the entrance before entering the store when all the customers left, according to the sheriff’s office.
Deputies said the suspect is a black male between 6’2” and 6’4” tall. He was seen wearing a gray Nike hoodie, black pants, and black Nike Air Force One shoes at the time of the robbery.
“This robbery is a little unusual in that it occurred at noon on a Saturday at a typically busy store,” said Sheriff Barry Faile. “We know customers were present before the robbery, and we hope somebody saw this man and can provide information that will help us identify him. There are probably people out there who recognize the robber from his clothing.
Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff’s office at 803-283-3388 and select Option 4.
