90s moving in with increased fire threat
Drop in temperatures Sunday
We’re heading into the middle of the week with a stretch of hot, very dry weather that just doesn’t want to budge. That dry air continues to be a big concern, keeping fire danger elevated across the area. It won’t take much for anything to spark and spread, so that’s something to keep in mind over the next few days.
Temperature-wise, it’s going to feel much more like early summer than mid-April. We warm quickly each afternoon, with highs climbing to 90 degrees today, and staying right around that mark through Saturday.
By Friday, we’ll start to see a few more clouds mix in at times, but don’t expect much relief just yet. It stays very warm and, more importantly, very dry to wrap up the work week.
A cold front does arrive on Sunday, and while it will bring a cooldown, it’s not looking very impressive in terms of rainfall. Moisture is limited, so most areas won’t see much help when it comes to easing the dry conditions.
Behind that front, temperatures finally settle back into the 70s for next week, bringing a more seasonable feel.
