Local non-profit that employs the blind is laying off 100+ people

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Charlotte non-profit that employs people who are blind or visually impaired is laying off more than 100 people.

Lions Services says it’s due to a downturn in business after a major government contract finished.

The organization says the decision is “incredibly difficult” because it impacts people who already face significant barriers to employment.
