NTSB releases preliminary report about deadly tanker explosion in Mooresville
MOORESVILLE, N.C. – We’re learning more about what happened during a deadly tanker explosion in Mooresville. According to a preliminary report released Thursday by the National Transportation Safety Board, a cargo truck owned an operated by Brenntag carrying about 1,100 gallons of sodium hydroxide, exploded on April 7th.
It happened after the driver arrived at Carolina Beverage. The driver of the truck died, and a Carolina Beverage employee got hurt.
Security camera video showed a white vapor coming from the tanker when it arrived at the facility that morning. The exact cause of the explosion is still under investigation.
