A few scattered showers this afternoon, with fog concerns tonight

Bright sunny skies return Tuesday

We areย waking up to a few clouds as our next minor storm system approaches with temperatures in the 40s and 50s.
Today looks like the wettest day of the week as a cold front pushes through the area. Expect a mix of scattered showers and maybe even a couple pop-up thunderstorms during the late morning into the afternoon, especially in the mountains where the rain chances are highest. Most places wonโ€™t see a ton of rain, though.ย  Daytime highs remain in the upper 70s.
Once the front moves out, cooler and much drier air settles in Monday night into Tuesday. Overnight temps could drop into the 40s in some spots, making it feel pretty refreshing by May standards. Tuesday will be sunny and comfortable, with afternoon highs in the mid-70s.
Looking ahead to Wednesday, another quick-moving system could spark a few showers and maybe an isolated thunderstorm, mainly across the mountains. Areas farther east will probably stay dry. Temperatures should stay close to whatโ€™s typical for this time of year.
By late week and into Friday, warmer and drier weather makes a comeback. Sunshine will take over as temperatures gradually climb back above normal heading into the weekend.
