Demolition of iconic Charlotte restaurant is underway
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Demolition is underway at the site of former Bar-B-Q King on Wilkinson Boulevard in west Charlotte. On Wednesday, our crews saw an excavator tearing down the structure.
Bar-B-Q King gained national attention in 2007 when it was featured on Food Network’s Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.
The iconic restaurant, which opened in 1956, closed its doors for good on November 1.
