Lincolnton Police detectives say missing person case is now considered a homicide

LINCOLN CO., N.C. – Detectives now believe a missing Lincoln County man was murdered. Search crews found the body of 70-year-old Tony Maddox in a wooded area in Lincolnton around 4:00 Wednesday afternoon.

Maddox was last seen alive in Lincolnton on May 26th. His car was found abandoned the next day on Elm Lane in south Charlotte. Lincolnton Police investigators say they now consider this a homicide investigation.
