Suspect Wanted In Late Night Lancaster County Armed Robbery
INDIAN LAND, SC — Deputies are looking for a suspect accused of robbing a gas station late Tuesday night in Lancaster County.
The robbery happened around 11pm at the Market Express Exxon on Charlotte Highway. According to deputies, the employee said she was alone and preparing to close when the suspect came inside, walked around the counter, and pointed a silver handgun at her while demanding money.
The suspect took off on foot with an undisclosed amount of money and a carton of cigarettes. No one was injured, and no shots were fired during the crime.
Deputies say the suspect is believed to be a man, and was last seen wearing a royal blue hoodie with the hood pulled over his head, faded blue jeans, and light colored sneakers with dark trim around the toes. Officials say he appears to have also been wearing dark gloves.
“This was a pretty brazen robbery,” says Sheriff Barry Faile. “From the tape, it seems clear the robber was armed with a handgun. We have pretty good photos of this person although he was completely covered. I encourage anyone who recognizes this person or his clothing or knows anything about this robbery to contact us. You can provide information anonymously. We need to identify and arrest this violent offender as soon as possible.”
Anyone with information is asked to call the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office at 803-283-3388 or Crime Stoppers at 888-274-6372.
