One person hurt in hazmat situation at west Charlotte business

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – One person is recovering from injuries after a hazmat situation Friday morning in west Charlotte.

It happened at Dystar Carolina Chemical along Wilkinson Boulevard. According to a Charlotte Fire official, the person got hurt while trying to decommission a sulfuric acid tank.

Firefighters, hazmat teams, and MEDIC units were all on the scene as they worked to get the situation under control.
