Increasing clouds with less humidity Tuesday
Rising temperatures midweek
Tomorrow, we’ll notice a few more clouds moving into the area. While a stray shower can’t be ruled out, the better chance for any rain will stay south of Charlotte, and even their coverage looks very limited. For most of us, it remains dry with temperatures staying a little more comfortable thanks to the added cloud cover. Tuesday may end up being one of the more pleasant days of the week before the summer heat ramps back up. Highs tomorrow will be much cooler into the lower 80s.
Looking ahead to the second half of the week, temperatures begin climbing above average. Thursday appears to be the hottest day, with afternoon highs pushing into the lower 90s and heat index values approaching 100 degrees. If you have outdoor plans, be sure to stay hydrated and take breaks from the heat.
Our next meaningful chance for rain arrives late in the week as another cold front and area of low pressure approach from the west. At the same time, additional tropical moisture may be drawn northward from the Gulf Coast region. That combination could lead to increasing rain chances beginning Thursday, with the highest likelihood for more widespread showers and thunderstorms arriving on Friday. It’s still too early to determine whether severe weather or heavy rainfall will become a concern.
