Father arrested, accused of killing own child
Five-year-old stabbed to death in Pineville
PINEVILLE, N.C. – The Pineville Police Department is investigating the homicide of a five-year-old child.
Police say they responded to a call at the Sabal Point Apartments just after midnight.
When they arrived, the found the child unresponsive with multiple stab wounds.
The child was taken to the hospital in a police car, but was was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
The father, Jehaaz-Akil Khaliq Echoles, is now charged with first-degree murder.
