UNDATED (AP) — The U.S. Olympic Committee has determined that it will not put forth Boston’s bid to host the 2014 Olympics. City officials refused to sign documents insuring financial support to host the Games. The USOC has until mid-September to nominate a city to the International Olympic Committee.

OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) — The Golden State Warriors have completed their trade with Boston sending two-time All-Star forward David Lee to the Celtics for Gerald Wallace and Chris Babb. The teams agreed to the trade July 7, but Boston needed time to sort out other moves in free agency before acquiring Lee.

CLEVELAND (AP) — It appears that Cleveland fan favorite Matthew Dellavedova (dehl-uh-vuh-DOH’-vuh) is coming back to the Cavaliers. A person familiar with the agreement says the Cav will re-sign the free agent guard to a one year deal worth $1.2 million. The person spoke to the Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the deal has not been signed.

NEW YORK (AP) — Center Derek Stepan has signed a long-term contract with the New York Rangers. The deal was announced just hours before a contract arbitration hearing for the 25-year-old. A restricted free agent, Stepan had 16 goals and 39 assists in 68 games this past season.

BALTIMORE (AP) — Nick Markakis (mahr-KAY’-kihs) returns to Baltimore tonight. It’s his first visit back to Camden Yards since signing as a free agent with Atlanta during the off season. During nine seasons with the Orioles Markakis hit .290 with 141 homers and 658 RBIs.
