BURKE COUNTY, N.C. — Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal accident after three construction workers were hit, one killed, on I-40 at exit 105 in Morganton.
The workers were hit by a pick-up truck just before 2:30 a.m. Friday.
The three workers were taken to Grace Hospital in Morganton and that’s where officials say 43-year-old Flavio James died.
No word on charges.
