
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Home Depot confirms that credit cards of 56 million customers have been compromised by a massive data breach.
The world’s largest home improvement chain is one of the largest victims of cyber hacking.
The unnoticed hackers had access to the company’s payment system information between April and September of this year.
The cyber attack is bigger than the one against Target last year.
Home Depot says they found out about the hacking on September 8 and apologize for the “frustration and inconvenience this breach may have caused.”
