ROWAN COUNTY, N.C. – A 57-year-old man has been arrested following a child exploitation investigation in Rowan County.
During the investigation, detectives determined that the suspect had been involved in sending and receiving child sexual abuse material over two months. Detectives executed search warrant for his electronic devices belonging to the suspect.
Evidence obtained during the investigation indicated that 57-year-old, Fred Tyner III was involved in purchasing child sexual abuse materials including videos and photos that was disseminated to others in some instances.
Tyner was arrested and charged with seven counts of third-degree sexual exploitation of a child and two counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of a child. He was placed in the Rowan County Detention Center without bond.
Detectives are continuing to determine who else was involved in this crime and determine the identities of the victims depicted.
This investigation remains ongoing.
