Lingering showers and a few storms into Friday

Drying out for the weekend

Tonight, keep that umbrella handy as we continue to see a few rounds of rain moving across the region. A cold front is slowly making its way through the region, and that means we’re not completely done with the wet weather just yet. Some neighborhoods may catch a break from the rain, while others will see passing showers throughout the night. It’s going to be a cloudy and damp start to our Friday, but hang in there because some really nice changes are on the way.

Friday morning could be a little messy, especially if you’re heading out the door early. We’ll be watching another wave of rain move across the area, with the greatest chance for a few downpours along and east of Charlotte. There could even be a little thunder mixed in. Just be prepared for some wet roads during the morning drive. The good news is that we’ll begin turning the corner as we get deeper into the afternoon. The rain will gradually move away, clouds will start breaking up, and we may even squeeze in some sunshine before the day is over.

Behind that front, we’ll welcome a fresh batch of cooler, drier air, and you’ll notice the difference. That sticky feeling will be gone, and temperatures will settle into the 60s during the afternoon hours. We’re also looking at plenty of sunshine both Saturday and Sunday, making it a great weekend to get outside and enjoy November in the Carolinas.
