Charlotte City Council to vote Monday on new ten-year lease with airlines at Charlotte Douglas
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Charlotte City Council is set to vote Monday on a massive new ten-and-a-half-year lease agreement with major airlines at Charlotte Douglas International Airport.
The deal includes a staggering $2.1 billion capital investment program. Airport officials say that money will fund critical upgrades to the terminal, airfield, and infrastructure, marking an investment more than four times larger than the previous agreement.
The contract also updates gate usage rules to maximize efficiency and gives the city a 55 percent cut of annual revenue sharing.
