State Authorities Capture Woman Missing From Work Release Facility

Officials say the inmate who was missing from a Charlotte work release facility has been captured.  Regina Davis was taken into custody early Friday morning off Tyvola Road in Charlotte.

Officials say she will be moved to a higher custody facility and will face charges for her escape.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. —  Law enforcement officers are looking for a female inmate who is missing from a Charlotte work release facility Friday night.

Authorities say 33-year-old Regina Davis was last seen near The Center for Community Transitions, a minimum custody work release facility for female inmates, around 9:09 p.m., on Friday, August 31st.

Davis is described as a black female with a medium complexion, about five feet six inches tall and roughly 207 pounds, with brown hair and hazel eyes.

Davis is serving a sentence for Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon.  She was admitted to prison in 2009 and is scheduled for release in 2019.  She moved from Swannanoa Correctional Center for Women to The Center for Community Transitions last March.
