Wilson’s World: Learning More about Doctors Without Borders
Doctors Without Borders Interactive Exhibit 'Forced From Home' at the NASCAR Hall of Fame Plaza through Sunday.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Wilson was in Uptown Charlotte in the NASCAR Hall of Fame Plaza where he was with members of Doctors Without Borders learning more about the group, their humanitarian work and their interactive exhibit.
Founded in 1971 Doctors Without Borders is an independent international humanitarian medical organization that provides free health care to vulnerable people across the globe in over 70 countries.Β Most of these refugees have had to force flee from their homes due to religious or ethnic tension, political strife and even violence due to war. Wilson talked with doctors who have worked with patients in some of the more “hot zone” areas of Syria, South Sudan, Bangladesh, Iraq and Aleppo.
Currently Doctors Without Borders has an incredible interactive exhibit at the NASCAR Hall of Fame Plaza.Β The exhibit “Forced From Home” is a free one hour family-friendly guided tour which was created to educate people about the millions of people who have been displaced and forced from their home.Β Of the 68.5 million people displaced, 40 million of those have been internally displaced within their own country.Β The most vulnerable of these millions are children, with over 50% of those impacted being children.
The Doctors Without Borders “Forced from Home” interactive exhibit will be at the NASCAR Hall of Fame Plaza through Sunday.Β It is a family friendly event, but is better suited for kids 12+. For more information and hours of the exhibit check out the website HERE.
The NASCAR Hall of Fame is located in Uptown Charlotte at 400 East MLK Blvd.
