Virginia Man Arrested For Trafficking Drugs In Iredell County
IREDELL COUNTY, N.C. — Deputies in Iredell County say they arrested a Virginia man after finding more than $20,000 in cash and drugs in his vehicle during a traffic stop.
Members of the Iredell County Interstate Criminal Enforcement Team were working traffic interdiction on I-77 on October 23rd when they reportedly stopped a Chevrolet passenger car near mile marker 59 for a traffic violation.
During the course of the traffic stop, deputies detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle and conducted a probable cause search of the vehicle, according to a news release.
During the search, deputies say they found a large sum of money in a black back pack along with 23.9 grams of Oxycodone tablets packaged for sale. Additionally, deputies say they located a bag of methamphetamine, digital scales and other materials used for packaging narcotics throughout the vehicle.
The amount of currency seized was $20,417 dollars.
The driver, Bryan Mack, was arrested and taken to the Iredell County Detention Center where he was charged with one count each of the following: felony trafficking by possession of Oxycodone, felony trafficking by transport of Oxycodone and felony possession of methamphetamine.
Mack, a Virginia native, was issued a $500,000 secured bond.
