CHARLOTTE, NC – An Ebola scare in the air may mean new health screenings at airports around the country. A sick passenger created commotion onboard an international flight in Newark, New Jersey Saturday. They’re cleared of Ebola, but now a Federal Official says all options for health screenings are on the table. That includes temperature checks in airports.

After Thomas Eric Duncan became the first person diagonsed with Ebola in the US, the CDC released new guidelines October 2nd.

Officials say airline workers should ask sick travelers what countries they’ve been to, ask what symptoms they have, such as chills, muscle pain, and vomiting.  And isolate them from others.

If it gets to the point where a suspected Ebola patient arrives, CDC officials say crews should wear protective equipment such as gloves, masks, and face-shields.  They should treat any bodily fluids as though they are infected and report travelers with potential symptoms to the CDC.
