CHARLOTTE, NC – Officials are working to keep safety on the water top of mind this holiday weekend. They say while it’s great to have fun, things can quickly get out of hand.
Master Officer Tracy Dula, with the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission says people need to wear their life jackets. And if people are drinking there needs to be a sober designated boat driver.
“You never can tell what may happen, accidents, incidents can occur and you want to be prepared for it,” Dula says.
The blood alcohol limit for driving a boat is the same as a car – 0.08.
